Rebranding a leader in the global sustainability movement

The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) realized they needed help to tell their brand story and explain the relationship between AASHE and their flagship certification program, STARS.

We worked with internal and external stakeholders to develop a new brand story and messaging matrix for AASHE. To bring the strategy to life, we developed a new, contemporary visual identity that sets AASHE apart from the multitude of sustainability-related organizations in the space, and also clearly defines the relationship between AASHE and STARS.

To help staff understand the new brand, and answer questions from members, we developed a Brand Book that was delivered as both a printed book and digital asset. We also created key pieces of client-facing collateral such as the Annual Report and event flyers.
Templates for digital applications such as the weekly AASHE email bulletin and  PowerPoint presentations ensure a consistent look and feel for all AASHE communications.
Our redesign of the STARS certification program creates a more obvious visual connection between AASHE and STARS. The new STARS logo is built from a section of the AASHE logo, and clearly spells out that this is "a program of AASHE."
